A SCARECROW LADY

This scarecrow lady was the result of a local city contest in October 2014 that I entered for the fun of it.  I had a great time making her out of odds and ends and wanted to share it with you.  First, they provided the wood 2 x 4 frame to everyone in the contest.  I added the flared sleeved long dress after disassembling it and sewing it back together on the form provided, glued the owl and the black crow on her shoulder, placed the red floppy-brimmed hat on her head, tied the scarf with pumpkins around her neck, and carved her lovely pumpkin head, adding blue gloves for hands.  After she was assembled, she was on display during the contest.  She didn't win, but got a lot of attention as the only scarecrow lady.  She was a lot of work, but it was well worth it!  She stood on the street in front of OLAH (Osceola League for Arts and Humanities where I was a member, still am and now the VP in 2015) downtown Evart, MI, for the week leading up to Halloween!  I was very proud of her!
